The Least Developed Countries (LDCs) are 48 nations especially vulnerable to climate change. They have suffered hundreds of thousands of deaths from climate related disasters in the past few 5 years alone, yet have contributed less than 1 per cent to historic greenhouse gas emissions. At the intergovernmental negotiations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) they work together as a negotiating bloc to achieve equitable climate outcomes for the most vulnerable countries.
